Alternative Education Programs

Project CONNECT serves any 16 to 21 year-old who is out of school and now desires to earn a diploma or a youth who is at risk of not graduating on schedule and seeking another alternative. An individual service plan is designed for each student, and the plan may include GED preparation classes, placement in a Career and Technical Education program, along with career and academic counseling. In addition to intense management services, a work experience component may also be offered.  For more information contact your high school guidance counselor or call Project CONNECT at (315) 361-5748.

Rome Tutorial Center

The Rome Tutorial Center opened on November 8th, 2004. The Center is a resource to students who are unable to participate in the regular school setting. Dedicated certified teachers as well as a social worker are permanent staff at the Center. Students attending the program receive tutoring and counseling. The Tutorial Center is recommended for students based on needs. The goal is to act as a “bridge” between the home-school and the student. Instruction is continued at the Center through the communication and cooperation of the staff members at the Center and the home-school teachers. The purpose is to have students return to their home-school and be current with their course curricula. For more information, contact the program teacher coordinator listed below.
