Rome, NY –   Rome Alliance for Education Community Schools, invites you to the Community Schools Carnival and Literacy Fair at Bellamy Elementary on Saturday, June 2. The event will be free admission and take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Join us in a day full of family fun as many community partners and leaders gather together to celebrate the first full year of partnership with community schools in Rome. Parking will be at Rome Free Academy and guests will be shuttled to Bellamy Elementary.  

This event will feature multiple speakers, family-friendly activities, food, books, and interactive booths. There will be an official ribbon cutting ceremony pronouncing Bellamy Elementary as the first official Community School in Rome.

Speakers at this event will include:

Anthony J Picente, Jr., Oneida County Executive

Peter Blake, Rome City School District Superintendent

Anthony Brindisi, New York State Assembly

Jacqueline Izzo, Mayor of Rome, New York

Activities will include but not limited to:

Bouncy Houses, Dunking Booth, Fire Truck, Police Car, Cotton Candy, Popcorn, Hot Dogs, Family Yoga in the Garden with Full Lotus Yoga, Free Book Giveaways, Putt-Putt provided by Rome Lions Club, Face Painting, Narcan Training and kits provided by Rome Memorial Hospital
