Top Ten

The Rome Free Academy Top Ten Class of 2019 was announced on Thursday, February 14th. The Valedictorian is Kelly Boyer, with a weighted average of 101.73 and the Salutatorian is Izabella Rivera, with a weighted average of 101.32. Boyer, 17, is the daughter of James and Cathleen Boyer of Blossvale. Rivera, 17, is the daughter of Raul and Rebecca Rivera of Rome.

 

Finishing out the top ten are Anthony Acosta (101.11), John George (100.79), Tejas Desai (99.73), Ruqiyah Shaik (99.62), Justine Cammer (98.79), Patrick Balog (98.32), Preston Mecca (98.01) and Calla Reilley (97.95). Congratulations to the top ten!

 

In addition, two students have advanced to Finalist standing in the National Merit Scholarship Program* (NMSP). Kelly Boyer and John George received a certificate of merit on Thursday from the NMSP by demonstrating through distinguished performance high potential for future academic accomplishment.

 

*All winners of Merit Scholarship® awards are chosen from the Finalist group based on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments—without regard to gender, race, ethnic origin, or religious preference. The Finalists are evaluated on academic record, information about the school's curricula and grading system, two sets of test scores, the high school official's written recommendation, information about the student's activities and leadership, and the Finalist's own essay.
