Two assemblies on school safety were held at RFA this morning with Rome Superintendent, Peter Blake and RFA Principal, Brian LeBaron. Because of the tragedy at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, the Superintendent felt it was important to hold these assemblies to answer questions and concerns.

He covered topics on security, what we can do to prevent tragedy from happening here and social/emotional mental health. "These are not easy conversations to have, but these are important to have," he said. "If you see something, say something. If you see a friend that is struggling, a change in behavior, ask someone about it, reach out to someone. The district has a lot of internal and external resources available to help students," he said. "If you have a question or concern, or your family has a question or concern, please email me. [pblake@romecsd.org] It is not the end of the discussion, it is the beginning," said Blake.
