Results from the Rome Science Fair 2019

 

The Rome Academy of Sciences conducted the 62ndAnnual Rome Science Fair. The Rome Science Fair is comprised of two separate events; the Jr./Sr. Science Fair held at NY State School for the Deaf on Wednesday, Feb 27th, and the Sr. Science Fair was held on Saturday Mar 2ndat RFA. The theme for this year’s science fair was “Look to the Stars”

 

The Jr./Sr. Science Fair was held at the NYS School for the Deaf. Twenty-one students participated in this Fair, with eight entries in the Junior Division and five in the Senior Division. As part of the DESTINY award, there were eight students in mousetrap car entries.

 

The Senior Science Fair was held at RFA. There was a total of 53 students in 39 entries for a possible 53 awards. The students were judged in fourteen categories, six grades, and three specialty awards. The “Best of Fair Awards – Senior Science Fair” were subdivided into: a) Team Awards, 17 teams were judged; and b) winners of the fourteen categories competed for top three “Best of Fair” awards.

 

The Rome Science Fair continues to be a total Rome community event. Even during these hard-economic times, the Rome Academy of Sciences is proud to say that 23 companies and organizations served as sponsors for this year’s Science Fair. Great job Rome NY! Special thanks to Byrne Dairy, Ferlo’s Bakery, RFA-AFJROTC, RFA Cafeteria, RFA Custodial Staff, and the Rome Board of Education for their continued support.
