Q: What are your titles?
A: Two year state title in Indoor Shot Put and 3 time Section 3 Champion for Outdoor Shot Put
Secret: She likes outdoor Shot Put better (when it’s nice out)
Q: What is your favorite part of the sport?
A: Throwing, learning new techniques, hearing the cheering, and the fact that it is an individual sport but she receives such support.
Q: What are your plans after RFA?
A: Brockport College. At Brockport will continue in track. Major in Geology and possibly a double Minor in Education and Archelogy. 
Fun fact- Sarah loves History. She would consider relocating after college but she LOVES Rome! 
Truth- Sarah is nervous and excited to head to Brockport, she hopes to get a roommate with similar interests and studies so they understand why she has late nights.
Q: What will you miss most about RFA?
A: Friends, talking about sports and working on school subjects together. Teamwork! 
Q: What do you like to do outside of Shot Put?
A: Riding bike on the NY Canal, kayaking (wants to try again), and hiking with her mom, Sandy Crockett. Loves outdoor activities.
Fun Fact: Sarah is an only child! 
Q: What made you start Shot Put?
A: Started off playing softball but after she got hurt during a game of dodgeball, decided she no longer wanted to play softball. Coach Swavely reached out to her and introduced her to Shot Put and she fell in love with it. 


Josiah Vrooman

Josiah has joined the Army. He will be doing UA Systems and drones repair. Basic training will be in Ft. Jackson South Carolina. Thank you, Josiah! 

Josiah’s favorite part of RFA was making friends and memories. 

Sam Houle

Sam is attending MVCC for Engineering Science.

His favorite part of RFA was the technology classes they offer. His technology classes at RFA are what inspired him to continue his education in the field!

Jon Casler

Jon is going to Clarkson University and majoring in Business.

Jon’s favorite part of RFA was the business classes he took throughout the years. Jon appreciates that RFA provided the opportunity for him to take courses that are not available at many other schools. 

Danny Mecca

Danny will be majoring in Business at SUNY Geneseo.

Danny’s favorite part of RFA was Homecoming Week!

James Faso III

James Faso III
James is heading to the University of Buffalo to major in Engineering.

James’s favorite part of RFA was the family-oriented environment. “Everyone comes together” said Faso. 

Preston Mecca

After graduation, you can find Preston studying Computer Science at the University of Buffalo. Preston is graduating RFA in the top 10 of his class!  

He will miss Rome Free Academy’s student section.

Jordan Elliot 

Jordan Ellliott
Jordan is enlisting in the Air force. He will begin his journey in San Antonio, Texas. 

When he is serving our country Jordan will miss heckling at hockey games. He loved spending his time having a blast in the RFA student section.

Alize Platt

Alize is off to New York City to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology.

While making the world more fashionable, Alize will be thinking of all the fun times she had during RFA’s Spirit Week. 

Devon Lilly

Devon will make his mark by entering the health field. He will be starting the Nursing program at MVCC. 

Devon’s favorite part of RFA was the wonderful teachers he had. 

Kayla Bush

Kayla is on her way to Long Island to attend Hofstra University. She will be studying Psychology.

Kayla’s favorite part of RFA was definitely the Music Programs. Thank you for all your wonderful performances throughout the years, Kayla!

Calla Reilly

Calla is spreading her knowledge to SUNY Oneonta to study Biology. Calla is in the top 10 of her graduating class! 

Her favorite part of RFA was the sporting events. 

Krystyne Kuehnert

Krystyne is beginning her post high school life in ITALY! She will be studying abroad through Syracuse University. Krystyne will be majoring in math. 

The support of her teachers was Krystyne’s favorite part of RFA. 

Amanda Bartholomew

Amanda is attending Utica College to major in Biology.

She will miss her times on the RFA Swim Team. Sports were her favorite part of RFA.

Izabella Rivera

Izabella is the Class of 2019’s Salutatorian. Izabella will be attending Vassar College to study math. You may recognize some notable alumni who graduated from Vassar College. Does Meryl Streep ring a bell?!  

Izabella’s favorite part of RFA was the music programs.
