The City of Rome, NY Mayor, Jacqueline M. Izzo and Rome City School District - Rome, NY School Superintendent, Peter Blake today announced that they have extended the property tax and school district tax payment deadline from April 30, 2020 to May 29, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rome Free Academy’s Rhapsody Show Choir will be hosting its annual Collegiate A Cappella Invitational on Saturday, February 8 at 7:30pm in the RFA Auditorium. Groups from five colleges will be performing, along with a special guest appearance from RFA’s show choir Rhapsody. Tickets are $8 at the door, or $7 in advance at the Jervis Public Library or from members of Rhapsody.

The Rome City School District’s Music and Arts Department are presenting their annual faculty showcase at Rome Free Academy on November 22nd 2019. This has been an annual event since 2015. Music and art teachers come together to present their artwork and holiday music for your entertainment. Admission is free and monetary donations can be made to the Rome Community Foundation. Instrument donations will also be accepted. The art gallery will be opening at 6pm and concert starting at 7pm.

RFA Marching Band Places First

The Rome Free Academy Marching Band competed in its first competition of the season on Saturday, September 7th, at Jordan-Elbridge High School. The Black Knights placed first in their new division, Large School 2, after finishing last season as state champions in Large School 3. The band scored higher on Saturday than any other band in Large School 2 across the state.
