Patrick Longo, Member Relations Manager for the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) far right, presented a Champions Of Change for Kids banner at the Rome City School District Board of Education meeting on August 12th. Longo recognized the District for its work on the Mohawk Valley Equity Pledge.

“It’s nice to be recognized at the State level for the work we’ve been doing over the last two years. Our students, staff and community are committed to providing the best and most equitable education possible within our schools,” said Peter C. Blake, Superintendent of Schools for the Rome City School District.

The Champion of Change for Kids Recognition Program celebrates programs that optimize existing resources to address issues of equity, demonstrate strong student academic performance and introduce unique learning environments that are cutting-edge and future-oriented. The recognition is presented quarterly to a few select districts.
