Andrea Trevett

What is your job title?

6th grade Co-Taught Classroom Teacher at Bellamy

How many years have you worked at RCSD?

19 years total.  This is my 17th year as a teacher and I was a TA for 2 years prior to that.

What is your favorite part of your job?

I love the relationships that I am able to build with the students. I truly enjoy making connections with them and building on those connections as the year goes on.  Sixth graders are a unique bunch and can be tough sometimes, but I love their sense of humor...we laugh everyday!

What inspires you?

Of course, the kids are my inspiration! I enjoy finding ways to make learning fun and memorable for them.  Two years ago we mummified a chicken and I don't think the kids will ever forget it...I know I won't!  So far this year, we have completed many team building challenges and today we reviewed the writing process using Play-Doh.  I think we are off to a great start!

What has been one of your proudest moments working at the RCSD?

I don't really have one shining moment that stands out. Instead I focus on all of the small moments that together add up to great achievements for my students. I attend the RFA Graduation Ceremony every year just to see my former students earn their diploma...that makes me pretty proud!
