Counseling Department
Each student has a counselor (designated by assigned team of teachers) who are eager to help in solving personal or school problems. Students and their parents should not hesitate to seek the assistance of their counselor.
Service may include:
• Assistance in planning future education
• Student Advocate
• Interpretation of educational progress
• Occupational/Career information
• Help in improving study skills, home, school or social concerns
• Scheduling assistance
Homework Requests
If your child is absent due to illness, homework can be requested on the 2nd day of absence to the Counseling office at 315-338-5212. Messages can be left on voicemail if the call comes in prior to the school day.
Working Papers
Students seeking a working certificate may obtain an application from the Counseling Office.
Initial Response Team (IRT)
Concerns about academic performance, attendance issues or social-emotional/behavior problems will be discussed by the IRT (teachers, counselor, social worker, administrator and other appropriate personnel), in an attempt to resolve the problem(s). Parents or school personnel may make referrals to the IRT.
