Stokes Elementary had 33 staff members participate in The Masked Reader! It is a play on the TV show The Masked Singer, where famous celebrities wear costumes to hide their identities while singing. A panel of judges tries to guess who they are! For The Masked Reader, each staff member recorded a 30-second video of themselves reading a book they enjoy. The twist is that a filter hiding the reader's identity was applied to the video! “We had everything from a banana, a mop, various animals, and even sushi! Each day this week, students were shown a few videos at a time and asked to guess who they thought the masked reader was,” said Brittany Hays, reading teacher at Stokes.
At the assembly on March 1st, the masked readers were revealed! It kicked off in March, which is Literacy Month! The students and staff in the building were buzzing all week with their guesses and excitement!
