George DiFabio

On May 8, the Cul-De-Sac at Stokes Elementary was named in honor of George DiFabio, a beloved teacher at Stokes for 49 years. Family, friends, staff, students, and community members gathered to celebrate with George. The event also featured piano music by Andrea Del Piano, Fort Stanwix drummer, and Lee Center Color Guard.


Justin Gualtieri, a former student of Mr. DiFabio, served as the master of ceremonies. Brianne Wilson, a former student and current PTG secretary, shared memories with the attendees, along with Mr. Fiore, former Principal at Stokes, and Judy Mullin, a former student and Principal at Stokes. A citation was presented by Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon and Senator, Joseph A. Griffo. The ceremony featured the unveiling of a dedicated stone, a memory table, and a cake.
