Wednesday's Worker of the Week for January 3 is Kellie Combs, a Kindergarten Teacher at Ridge Mills
How long have you worked in the RCSD? Over 20 years
What do you like most about your job? I love everything about my profession. It is truly a blessing to be given someone’s most prized possession at the beginning of their school career. I feel like no child is on my class list by accident. I have the opportunity to get them excited about school. I believe every child is special and able to learn. I love seeing them grow and follow them in their school career.
What inspires you? I am inspired by so many people. I had great teachers and an amazing family. Education has a trajectory for our success. We were taught not to compare ourselves to others but to just try to be better than we were the day before in all that we did. I try to instill this in my students and to live by the Golden Rule. If everyone saw the world through the lens of a kindergartener – the world would be a better place.
What is a fun fact about you? I love to exercise. I love my Peloton, and I love sports. My favorite place is Mexico!
