What do you like most about your job? The thing that I like most is being able to share the love learning with my students. I love when I see their eyes light up when they discover something new! I learn so much from them and they ask so many intriguing questions! I often have to Google the information for them. I love working with my peers. We have a lot of fun and I learn so much from them.
What inspires you? First and foremost, my daughters Elizabeth and Emily inspire me. They are kind, compassionate, hardworking, and persevere through even the most difficult situations. Teaching is so rewarding because I get to work with students, their families, and other staff members to ensure that the needs of my students are being met. It inspires me to focus on the social and emotional needs of my students.
What is a fun fact about you?
While living in Turkey, one of my dad’s clients was the oldest and largest ship owner in Turkey. My brother and I were invited to have lunch on one of their ships in the Sea of Marmara. The “Istanbul” an Ultra Large Crude Carrier, was 12 stories high. The ship was five football fields long, and one and half wide! Unfortunately, this ship was one of the first Turkish ships to be bombed by the Iraqis in the Iran/Iraq War was shortly after our visit.
