Thank you, School Counselors!

National School Counseling Week, February 6–10, 2023

School Counseling Week is a time to not only for the community show appreciation for School Counselors, but it is a time for School Counselors themselves to inform, educate, and advocate to the community about their role in our schools.

National School Counseling Week 2023, “School Counselors: Helping Students Dream Big,” is the theme this year. Sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), it is celebrated from February 6–10, 2023, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different because of what school counselors do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.

"The School Counseling team at the Rome City School District is the most diverse, capable and passionate group I have worked with. They help our students with career exploration, college readiness, emotional expression, goal setting, effective communication skills and learning positive behaviors, among many other related topics. School Counselors touch the lives of every student in our school buildings. They also work with parents, school staff, and community support providers to ensure that our students have the most enriched learning experience possible."

School Counseling Week is a time to not only for the community show appreciation for School Counselors, but it is a time for School Counselors themselves to inform, educate, and advocate to the community about their role in our schools.
